Polokong Children's Village

About the beneficiary

Polokong Children’s Village is a home that caters for approximately 50 previously disadvantaged children in Evaton, South of Johannesburg.

The village was founded in 1991 by concerned members of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul, who were of the opinion that something should be done for the neglected children of Sebokeng.

Today, Polokong Children’s Village is committed to being a safe, caring children’s home with the best facilities, providing care and counselling to children between the ages of 18 months and 18 years. These children are placed in the home’s care by the courts, and come from previously disadvantaged backgrounds (abuse, abandonment, neglect, etc.)

Their highly competent team is committed to serving children with love, compassion and respect for their rights, and provides the highest standard of care in a harmonious environment, whilst integrating with the community.

AAAKEE enlisted the beneficiary in early 2015, and thus far consigned school uniforms and stationery to the children in their care. We’d like to extend a huge word of thanks to all the sponsors who made this contribution possible.

We will continue to support the organisation for the forseeable future.
