Another Great Swing at Fundraising: Annual Charity Golf Day 2012

On Wednesday, 18 April 2012, AAAKEE held its first charity Golf Day for the year at the Observatory Golf Club, a wonderful venue indeed. Our sponsors enjoyed a full game of Golf, followed by a successful prize-giving, dinner, and auction.

During the auction, AAAKEE was blessed with quite a bit of funding through the sales of some high-valued sporting and heritage pieces. The most valuable item, a Nelson Mandela piece with 9 limited edition Madiba Coins from SA Coin, was sold before the auction, which, along with all the other pieces, brought in some major funding that will be used for our various Food & Clothing Drive initiatives for homes and individuals.

We’d like to extend a huge word of thanks to all our sponsors that participated in the day’s event – you all made a difference to more children’s lives. Additionally, we thank the catering and management teams at the Observatory Golf Club for organising everything ‘to the tee’. Without you, this fundraising event would not have run as smoothly as it did.

Sometime around September/October, we’ll be holding another charity golf day to raise funds for the end of 2012, and the beginning of 2013. More details about this fundraising event will be released closer to the time – we have not yet finalised a date and venue.
