As part of our Winter School Uniform Drive, AAAKEE donated a total R 41,676.00 worth of uniforms for both the St. Mary’s and Catherine Robson Children’s Homes, over a period of two days – 22, 23 June 2011.
A huge word of thanks to our sponsors for making this well received donation possible.
The following article, entitled “Support for St Mary’s” appeared in the Southern Courier on June 28, 2011:
AAAKEE (Abused and Abandoned Kids Educational Excursions) visited St Mary’s Children’s Home last week with supplies of [winter] school uniforms, shoes and stationery, which was very much appreciated by the children.
Known for it’s good work helping children’s home and caring for those less fortunate, AAAKEE [relies] soley on the generosity of companies via thier corporate/social investment divisions and donations from private individuals.
All funds raised are used for uniforms and stationery, food and clothing, and educational outings. St Mary’s is just one of the homes they help on an ongoing bases.
“We are extremely grateful to AAAKEE for all their assistance, and thank them for taking such an interest in our children and their needs,” said Sonja Harmse, director of the home.
Odin Middleton from AAAKEE wishes to thank all their most generous donors and sponsors. “Without their help we wouldn’t be able to help others,” said Odin. [The Southern Courier]
