We're for the little humans. We're for their futures.
Founded in May 2000 by Pine and Lenie Pienaar, the Lerato Child and Youth Care Centre was motivated by the need of care and shelter for abandoned and destitute babies and children, and finally registered by the Department of Social development toward the end of 2007. The home seeks to provide a loving home children of all ages can grow up in a family environment, and leave a positive mark in their lives.
The primary care-giver of the children treats every child as a family member and introduced into a community where they are loved, educated, and protected.
Further, they strive to create a public awareness of the needs and rights of children, as well as the responsibility of organisations such as our own.
The home’s vision is to provide a comprehensive service to ensure a dignified lifestyle for neglected children and babies in a family environment. Its mission is to devote itself to health care, education, nurturing, day care, accommodation and the feeding of their children.
Based in Meyerton, The home is a registered non-profit in the Midvaal Municipality and is funded solely by the private sector. Their existence is therefore dependent on fundraising and public relation activities. In order to provide stability and security to their children, they have acquired a property of their own. This asset, along with all their income, is utilized solely in the furtherance of their primary objectives. The home strives to make a positive difference in the lives of their children. Lerato Child and Youth Care Centre has facilities to care for babies, toddlers and teenagers.
Our organisation has supported the home for some years now, making several donations, and fulfilling food and grocery requirements.
